How Can You Pay at Walmart?

Walmart accepts all major credit cards. You can pay with MasterCard, Visa, American Express, and Discover. Walmart also offers its own store credit cards for frequent shoppers — the Walmart Credit Card and Walmart MasterCard.

Walmart Credit Cards

Some retailers offer store credit cards. Store cards usually come with perks and advantages the general public doesn’t have access to. The Walmart Credit Card is a store card and can only be used for purchases at Walmart stores, Sam’s Club, gas stations, and Walmart.com. For more flexibility, the Walmart MasterCard can also be used at other retailers and wherever MasterCard is accepted.

Regular shoppers could benefit from paying for their store and online purchases with the Walmart Credit Card. They’ll earn 5% cashback on the retailer’s already low prices.

Other Walmart Payment Methods

Besides the credit cards and Walmart store cards above, Walmart also accepts the following forms of payment:

  • Most PIN-based debit/ATM cards;
  • PayPal;
  • Walmart Gift Cards and eGift Cards;
  • Cash;
  • EBT;
  • Chase Pay;
  • Amex Express Checkout;
  • Affirm Installment Financing.

Does Walmart Take PayPal?

Walmart accepts PayPal. The new partnership between the two companies allows you to deposit and withdraw funds at Walmart service desks, cash registers, and store ATMs. It’s a great alternative to check cashing services for shoppers with a PayPal account. Using the PayPal app or PayPal Cash Card, load the amount you wish to deposit or withdraw for a $3 fee.

Once you’ve loaded the funds, you can withdraw them at the store ATM from your PayPal cash card. Or show the cashier or service desk representative the code generated from the mobile app to deposit or withdraw the cash amount.

Chase Pay

Chase banking customers can now pay at Walmart stores using their Chase account information. To use Chase Pay in stores, download the Walmart mobile app and set up a username and password. Once you set up an account, you can enable Chase Pay from the app. Once you’re ready to pay at the register, scan the QR code found in the Walmart Pay app to check out.

What Is Affirm Installment Financing?

Walmart no longer accepts layaways. Their solution for customers who would like to make purchases and pay them off over time is Affirm Installment Financing. Affirm offers customers who may not have access to credit cards the opportunity to pay off a purchase over three, six, or 12 months.

Walmart Accepted Payment Methods in Store

Walmart accepts several convenient payment methods. If you’d like to pay for items without worrying about a bill down the road, you can pay for items using cash, a personal check, gift cards, PayPal, EBT, or a debit card. If you need more time to pay off the items you’re purchasing, you can always use any of the major credit cards or apply for Affirm Installment Financing.
